Congress leaders in Telangana are gathering today at Gandhi Bhavan. The meeting starts at 6 pm on August 23. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Congress in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, PCC chief Mahesh Goud, and other ministers will attend. The Advisory Committee is also invited to join.

The meeting will address seven important issues in the state. They will discuss plans after the High Court’s decision on local elections and how to apply 42% reservation for Backward Classes. Strategies for the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-elections will be a focus. Promoting “Vote Theft” and “Gadde Chod” campaigns, as advised by the AICC, is another key point.

Leaders will review development and welfare programs led by CM Revanth Reddy. They will assess the party’s structure, including forming village, mandal, and district committees. Establishing pending state-level committees is also on the agenda.

The meeting is critical due to recent criticisms from within the party, including from MLA Rajagopal Reddy and CM Revanth Reddy. The public is concerned about urea shortages, worsened by opposition claims. Delays in local elections and internal conflicts add to the challenges. This makes today’s meeting vital for the Congress party as it tackles these issues.
