Hyderabad: The Congress party is preparing for a major public meeting in the city on July 4. AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge will be the chief guest at this event. The party plans to show its strength and unity, aiming to gather support for local body elections and the Jubilee Hills bypoll, along with the GHMC polls.
This gathering is part of the Congress’s ongoing campaign, ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bheem, Jai Samvidhaan’. About 15,000 attendees, mainly party members, are expected. PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud has urged all leaders, including those from villages, to ensure its success. He emphasized that the Jai Samvidhan program will focus on protecting the Constitution. Key leaders from across the state are encouraged to participate actively.
The meeting, led by city in-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, also assessed the party’s readiness for the GHMC polls. Attendees included Rajya Sabha MP M Anil Kumar Yadav, MLA Danam Nagender, MLCs like Amir Ali Khan and Balmoor Venkat, and PCC working presidents such as Anjan Kumar Yadav and Mohammad Azharuddin. Corporation chairmen, contested MLA candidates, corporators, and other important figures were also present.
Besides the public meeting in the evening, a Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting is set for the same day at Gandhi Bhavan before the event at L B Stadium.
