Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court Advocates Association (THCAA) leaders recently visited Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at his home in Jubilee Hills. THCAA President Anumula Jagan, along with Secretary Khaja Vizarath Ali and other members, discussed concerns affecting their community.
The group asked for 50 acres near the under-construction New High Court Building in Rajendranagar. They want this land to create an Advocates Housing Society, which would help many in their profession.
The committee praised CM Revanth for committing Rs. 1,028 crore to the new court’s construction. They also suggested an annual Rs. 5 crore funding for the association to enhance advocate welfare and development.
Other requests included health insurance for advocates registered after 2019. They also proposed increasing the monthly stipend for junior advocates from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 to aid their career progression.
The need for an Advocates Protection Act was emphasized due to increasing attacks on lawyers in Telangana, which has caused fear and insecurity.
Present at the meeting were THCAA Vice President G. Rajeshwar Reddy, N. Indrasena Reddy, N. Anirudh, Papiah, Ramu, and other committee members.
