The Congress plans to appoint new District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents by the end of this month to prepare for upcoming local elections. Many current DCC chiefs hold government roles, so the All India Congress Committee (AICC) observers will decide on new appointments.
Recently, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal visited Hyderabad. They aim to strengthen the party by empowering DCCs to choose candidates for local and MLA elections. The committees’ suggestions will be prioritized.
Observers from different states will visit to help select new DCC presidents. They will meet district leaders, gather opinions, and report back to the AICC.
Currently, 14 DCC presidents have government roles, and 8 have been elected as MLAs. Appointing new DCC presidents is expected to bring fresh energy and allow them to focus fully on their roles. These new leaders will actively promote party programs and government initiatives. Most current DCC presidents will be replaced, according to party leaders. Observers will soon conduct meetings in districts, collect feedback, and then the AICC will finalize the appointments.
