Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy has strongly opposed the transfer of railway employees from Kazipet to other locations like Vijayawada. Speaking at a press conference held at the Railway Sangh Office in Kazipet on Saturday, he criticized railway officials for ordering the transfer of 185 assistant drivers.

He claimed that this move is part of a long-running effort to reduce the importance of Kazipet Junction. He pointed out that in the past, 17 railway guards were also transferred, and now it’s 185 assistant drivers. According to Naini, this is being done by some officials with personal interests.

Naini mentioned that Warangal MP K Kavya has already spoken to the General Manager of Secunderabad Railways, asking for Kazipet to be upgraded to a full railway division. He also highlighted that a rail coach and wagon factory is currently being built in Kazipet, making the staff transfer even more unreasonable.

He criticized the railway authorities for not involving the railway unions before making such a big decision. Naini demanded that the transfer orders be canceled immediately. He warned that if this demand is not met, the Congress party, along with railway unions and like-minded groups, will start a protest.

Naini also called on Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, who are from Telangana, to take up the issue with the central government and stop the unfair treatment of the state.

Greater Warangal Mayor Gundu Sudharani, as well as local corporators and Congress leaders, also attended the press meet in support of the cause.
