Hyderabad: A special conference for cowshed (gaushala) managers and cow feeders will be held in Hyderabad on May 18. The event will take place at Sri Vasavi Seva Kendra, Khairatabad, from 9 am to 4 pm.

The aim of the conference is to raise awareness about the problems faced by cowshed managers and cow carers in Telangana. Organisers want the state government to introduce the same kind of support and schemes that are already being provided in neighbouring states.

At a press meet, M Vijay Ram from Save Organisation and Jasmath Patel from the Love for Cow Foundation explained the main challenges. These include a lack of veterinary medicines, animal feed, proper shelter, and nutrition. They said that, unlike in nearby states, Telangana does not provide enough support, which has led to issues like cows suffering from hunger.
