Hyderabad: The Director General of the Women Safety Wing, Shikha Goel, announced that the T-Safe system is now integrated with Uber SOS and Safegaadi. This system sends real-time alerts to the police, allowing them to respond quickly and help women in transit. The goal is to prevent incidents before they happen, rather than reacting after the fact.

At T-Safe’s annual success meet held at Ameerpet metro station, there was a live demonstration showing how these safety features work. Posters and videos were also released to raise awareness about T-Safe. Several women who have used the service shared their positive experiences, encouraging more people—especially women—to use it. They mentioned that the app is easy to use, inclusive, and helps ensure a safe and stress-free ride.

Telangana is now the first state in India to offer police-monitored ride safety directly within public and private transport apps. Since the launch of the T-Safe app on March 12, 2024, more than 36,000 rides have been monitored for safety.

The Women Safety Wing has responded to over 27,000 SOS alerts, with an average response time of just eight minutes. So far, the app has been downloaded over 43,000 times and has 32,000 registered users.

Due to its success, seven other state police departments are interested in adopting the same model. The Telangana police are also planning to expand T-Safe’s integration to other travel platforms like Ola, Rapido, Manayatri, and AbhiBus. This move aims to ensure quick police help during emergencies, no matter which platform people use to travel.
