Warangal: CPI National Secretary K Narayana criticized the BJP-led NDA Government for allegedly targeting states governed by other political parties. He claimed that the central government is using Governors, who are appointed by them, to destabilize these states. Narayana made these statements while speaking to the media in Hanumakonda on Friday.
Narayana specifically pointed to the recent actions of Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, who granted permission to prosecute Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He argued that this move was against the spirit of federalism.
Narayana also demanded that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee take moral responsibility for a tragic incident in Kolkata, where a postgraduate doctor was raped and murdered. He criticized the government for allegedly reassigning the medical officer involved in the case to another location within three days, suggesting that such a decision could not have been made without government support.
Narayana further accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of protecting businessman Adani to save his government, alleging that even RSS activists believe Modi is undermining the Constitutional system. He claimed that Modi attempted to resolve tensions between the BJP and RSS by asking Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to mediate, but the effort was unsuccessful.
According to Narayana, the Modi government relies on the support of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. However, he criticized both leaders for failing to secure special category status for their states, suggesting that they should be embarrassed for continuing to support Modi.
In Telangana, Narayana commented on the political dynamics, suggesting that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy claims the BRS will merge with the BJP, while BRS leaders counter that Revanth himself will join the BJP. He emphasized that people are more interested in good governance than in these political games.
Narayana also stated that the creamy layer concept does not apply to reservations for Scheduled Castes (SCs). Additionally, CPI’s other National Secretary, Syed Azeez Pasha, criticized the central government for allocating only 1.35 percent of the total budget to the health sector.
Several other CPI leaders, including State Secretary Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, and senior leaders Chada Venkat Reddy, Palla Venkat Reddy, Takkalapally Srinivas Rao, P Padma, K Shankar, B Vijaya Saradhi, and Karre Bikshapathi, were present at the event.
