Ramannapet (Yadadri-Bhongir): The CPM State secretary, John Wesley, has issued a warning to the Adani Group regarding their plans to build an Ambuja Cement plant near Ramannapet. He stated that if the group does not halt their project, they will encounter strong public opposition and protests.
During his journey from Hyderabad to Suryapet on Wednesday, Wesley made a short stop in Ramannapet, where local CPM leaders greeted him warmly.
Wesley emphasized that the Communist parties will not stay silent if large corporations like Adani attempt to establish polluting industries in rural green areas. He mentioned that despite public disapproval during consultations, there were secretive efforts to advance the project.
He called for transparency in the public opinion report and urged the government to clearly state that no permission will be given for the project. Wesley also mentioned plans for a delegation to meet the Chief Minister soon to demand the cancellation of the project permissions. Several local CPM leaders were present with him.
