Hyderabad now has a brand-new Tolichowki Police Station, officially opened by City Police Commissioner CV Anand on Wednesday. The Commissioner accepted the first FIR, signaling the start of operations at the new station.
CV Anand explained that this move aims to bring law enforcement closer to the people. He said that setting up the station reflects the police department’s goal of improving public access and governance. The launch event was overseen by DCP South West Zone, Chandra Mohan, along with officers from local police stations and zonal circles.
The new Tolichowki Police Station (Law & Order) was created by reorganizing parts of the existing Golconda, Mehdipatnam, and Filmnagar police stations. It’s part of a larger plan to improve patrolling and response in the region.
To ensure better coverage, the station’s area has been split into four sectors. Each sector is patrolled by assigned teams, including Blue Colts and patrolling vehicles, to enhance security and quick response.
Here’s what each sector covers:
– Sector 1 includes: Samatha Colony, SA Colony, Golden Sand Colony, Viratnagar, Suryanagar Colony, Aditya Express Towers, Adams Colony, Rahul Colony, Aziz Bagh Colony, Sitaramanjaneya Temple, Passport Office, and the route from Aditya Empress Towers to Seven Tombs.
– Sector 2 covers: Janaki Nagar Colony, Khaja Gulshan Colony, Mini Janaki, Delux Colony, Brindavan Colony, Sabza Colony, Hakeemsha Colony, Hakeempet Kunta, and the road from the substation to Fatima Nagar Colony, including Kohesar Colony and Mini Brindavan Colony.
– Sector 3 includes: Paramount Colony Gates 1–4, IAS Colony, Hakeempet, New Hakeempet, Limra Crossroads, Meraj Colony, Nizam Colony, the area before the Tolichowki flyover toward Mehdipatnam, and NSF Colony.
– Sector 4 covers: MD Lines, Akbarpura, Mirza Colony, Nadeem Colony, Quli Qutub Shah Nagar, Jamali Kunta, Aruna Colony, Balreddy Nagar, Shatam Nagar, Durga Nagar, Valmiki Nagar, Teen Dargah, the roads from Tolichowki X Roads to Zeeshan Café, and from Teen Dargah to Tolichowki X Roads, along with Azan International School and Golden Function Hall.
With this new setup, the Hyderabad City Police hopes to improve safety, reduce response times, and strengthen ties with the local community. The Tolichowki Police Station stands as a step forward in making law enforcement more efficient and accessible.
