In Hyderabad, preparations are underway for the upcoming Vinayaka Chaturthi festival. C.V. Anand, the City’s Police Commissioner, conducted a video conference to discuss the setup and immersion of Ganesh idols. He met with all police personnel, from Sub-Inspectors to the Additional Commissioner, to ensure everything is in place for the event.
For the past three years, the Milad un Nabi festival has coincided with Ganesh Navaratri. This will happen again this year. Therefore, C.V. Anand emphasized the importance of taking careful steps to ensure both festivals proceed without issues.
During the meeting, the Commissioner outlined specific measures for idol installation, coordinating with mandap organizers, and managing security during the immersion processions. He instructed all Sector Sub-Inspectors and Station House Officers to gather detailed information about the mandaps in their areas. This information will help with geo-tagging, aiding in security management and tracking idol movements during processions.
Frequent meetings at the police station level with mandap organizers were recommended to ensure coordination and provide necessary facilities.
Vikram Singh Mann, Additional CP Law and Order; P. Viswa Prasad, Additional CP Crime; Joel Davis, Joint CP Traffic; and other officials participated in the meeting virtually.
