    Hyderabad: Two people were arrested after a complaint was filed by the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) on March 30. The incident happened at a construction site located in Sy No 25, Kancha Gachibowli Village.

    According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police from Gachibowli police station, TGIIC had started development work at the site following a government order. Around 3:30 PM, a group of people—including some from Hyderabad Central University (HCU)—arrived at the location. They tried to stop the construction work and reportedly attacked officials and workers using sticks and stones.

    During the incident, the Assistant Commissioner of Police from the Madhapur Division was seriously injured on his right knee and ankle. As a result, the police took 53 individuals into preventive custody under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS). These individuals were later released on personal bonds.

    The police registered a case at Gachibowli Police Station under Case No. 608/2025. The charges were filed under Sections 329(3), 121(2), 132, 191(3), and 351(3) read with 3(5) of the BNS. The two arrested men were identified as B Rohit Kumar and Erram Naveen Kumar. Police confirmed that they are no longer students at HCU.

    Authorities also clarified that no lathi charge took place, and no students were dragged from their hostels, as some false reports had claimed. The two arrested individuals have been sent to judicial custody.

    The police have advised students not to believe false or misleading information. They encouraged students to use official channels to resolve any concerns. They also warned that anyone who disturbs public order will face legal action.
