Hyderabad is experiencing heavy rain. Because of this, Cyberabad Police suggested that IT and corporate companies let their employees work from home.
The Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) issued a notice emphasizing safety and productivity. They encouraged companies to adopt work-from-home to reduce traffic and ensure emergency services can operate smoothly. The alert mentioned heavy rain expected on Tuesday, July 22, and sought cooperation from businesses.
Recent rains have caused severe flooding, especially in the IT corridor. Water reached waist level, causing massive traffic jams. Commuters faced long delays, struggling through waterlogged streets. Many IT employees found themselves stranded, particularly on the Gachibowli main road, where cars were submerged in knee-deep water.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and local officials advised people to stay indoors unless necessary. IMD Hyderabad issued a yellow alert, forecasting cloudy skies with light to moderate rain or thundershowers. They warned of potential intense rain with gusty winds between 30-40 kmph.
