Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Special Operations Team (SOT) from Madhapur, along with the Petbasheerabad police, arrested a man for selling drug-laced chocolates. These chocolates, containing ganja, weighed a total of 12.7 kilograms and were valued at Rs 1.02 lakh. The drugs were being brought in from Punjab to Hyderabad.
The person arrested was 55-year-old Tamk Issar Singh, a resident of Jagadgirigutta in Medchal Malkajgiri district. He had previously been involved in two drug-related cases under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act.
According to the police, Issar Singh would buy ganja-laced chocolates from Anandpur Sahib in Ranipur district, Punjab. He would then sell these chocolates to construction workers and other people for Rs 40 per packet. The police investigation revealed that Singh had purchased 68 packets, which included 12.7 kilograms of ganja chocolates and 680 grams of dry ganja powder.
The police arrested Singh at the Suchitra X road auto stand, acting on reliable information.
