In Hyderabad, North Zone DCP Rohini Priyadarshini honored a mother and daughter for bravely confronting and chasing away two robbers who entered their house in Begumpet. The robbers were wearing helmets, masks, and carrying guns.
Two armed men invaded a house in Begumpet, and a video of the intense confrontation between the mother-daughter duo and the robbers went viral on social media. DCP Rohini Priyadarshini stated that the accused not only intended to rob the house but also attempted murder. The accused had visited the house previously in 2022 during Diwali as workers for four days. They had surveyed the area two days before the incident and pretended to be courier boys to gain entry. The robbers threatened the women with weapons and knives, but both were later arrested.
The accused were produced in XI Criminal Court, Secunderabad, for judicial remand. Items seized included ropes, a tapancha weapon, a rubber bullet shell, knives, and a gift paper box. The police revealed that the robbers had planned the robbery, conducted reconnaissance before the attempt, and selected the house. They tricked the house owner into thinking they were courier boys before forcefully entering the house to rob it.
During the robbery attempt, a brawl broke out between the robbers and the mother-daughter duo. The mother, who knows martial arts, managed to kick one of the robbers and snatch his weapon. One of the robbers fled, while the other was caught by neighbors who heard the commotion. The bravery shown by the mother and daughter was crucial in thwarting the robbery attempt and catching one of the robbers.
