Kothagudem: Across Telangana, people joyfully marked Praja Palana Dinotsavam (People’s Governance Day) in various districts.
At the IDOC office in Bhadrachalam, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao raised the national flag. He spoke about the day’s importance, noting September 17 as a pivotal moment when Hyderabad State joined the Indian Union in 1948. He honored freedom fighters and emphasized that democracy thrives when the people’s wishes are acknowledged.
He praised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for advancing Telangana in sectors like agriculture, irrigation, power, education, and jobs. The state is now a model for farmer welfare, thanks to initiatives like loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa, and farmer insurance schemes.
The Minister also discussed development achievements, mentioning the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Project, the new Earth Sciences University, better rail links, and future projects like the Kothagudem Greenfield Airport, a Ring Road, and expanded national highways.
Later, he joined Vishwakarma Jayanti celebrations, laying flowers and acknowledging the contributions of skilled workers and artisans to national growth.
He stressed the ongoing caste census as a crucial step for fair representation and welfare for backward classes, urging support from the central government.
District officials, community leaders, and BC association representatives attended the event.
