Digital solutions can help address teacher shortages, says OU Vice-Chancellor

Professor Kumar Molugaram, Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University, spoke about the importance of digital readiness for educators. He addressed this topic during the closing session of a two-day workshop titled “Embarking on the Digital Frontier – Tools for Enhancing MOOCs Experiences.”

The workshop aimed to train educators on using digital tools to improve Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Many faculty members from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and other states participated enthusiastically in the event.

Professor Kumar stressed the need for teachers to continuously learn and adopt digital teaching methods. He encouraged faculty members to focus on finding solutions instead of just identifying problems. He also pointed out that MOOCs and platforms like SWAYAM help bridge the gap between traditional and digital education.

He explained that the shortage of quality teachers could be reduced through digital tools. He urged educators to adapt to the changing world of online education.

Professor JB Nadda, Director of CEC, New Delhi, appreciated Osmania University and the organizing team for their excellent planning and execution of the workshop.
