Nagar Kurnool Youth Festival: Collector Stresses on Importance of Culture
Nagar Kurnool District Collector, Badavath Santosh, highlighted the importance of preserving the culture and traditions of the country. He was speaking at a district-level Youth Festival organized by the District Youth and Sports Department at Sai Garden on Saturday. The Collector emphasized that the youth have a crucial role in maintaining and upholding India’s rich cultural values.
The event began with the Collector lighting a ceremonial lamp and paying tribute to Swami Vivekananda by garlanding his portrait. Folk artists Ramulu and Padmalaya were honored with shawls for their contributions to traditional arts. The Collector also praised students for their folk dance performances. He mentioned that everyone has hidden talents, and youth festivals like this one provide a platform to showcase them.
During his speech, the Collector encouraged the youth to take inspiration from Swami Vivekananda and move forward with determination. He stated that the future of the nation depends on the youth and that nothing is impossible if they put their minds to it. He urged young people to avoid negative influences and follow the right path in life.
The Collector also motivated students to excel not only in academics but also in sports and cultural activities. He called for identifying talented students in various folk arts at the mandal level and nurturing them to achieve recognition at district, state, and national levels. He assured that the district administration would continue to support students excelling in folk arts.
Finally, the Collector appreciated the officials for organizing the Youth Festival on such a grand scale. He also shared tips with students on how to preserve organically grown vegetables. The event saw participation from District Youth and Sports Officer Seetharam Naik, SGF Secretary Pandu, DSO Rajasekhar Rao, folk artists Padmalaya and Ramulu, teachers, students, and others who contributed to making the festival a success.
