In Gadwal, District Collector B.M. Santosh has instructed officials to get ready for the upcoming Bhoo Bharati revenue conferences from June 3 to June 20. The focus is on organized and effective execution.
On Friday, an orientation was held at the IDOC Conference Hall for Tahsildars, Deputy Tahsildars, and Revenue Inspectors. The Collector highlighted that the government’s priority is to address land-related issues efficiently.
The new Bhoo Bharati Act is replacing the old Dharani system. This new law aims to make services like land registration, mutation, and Record of Rights (ROR) changes more accessible. It also covers inheritance issues and unregistered agreements, known as Sada Bainamas.
In Itikyala Mandal, a pilot project under the new system was completed successfully. Applications were accepted, and issues were resolved. The revenue conferences will take place in all village panchayats in the district from June 3 to June 20.
Officials involved in the Bhoo Bharati program need to fully understand the laws, rules, and schedules. Tahsildars must prepare village-wise schedules for the meetings. Every mandal should form two teams to visit one village each day, holding a full-day conference.
Officials are required to stay in the villages and directly handle grievances and land-related applications from the public, ensuring quick solutions. For assigned lands, officials must immediately identify and report them to higher authorities, aiming to forward them to the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA).
Applications can be submitted until June 20, with all issues to be resolved by August 14, according to the Collector. Villagers should be informed a day before the conference, and application forms should be distributed in advance. At the end of each day, data entry operators must digitally record the applications received. A comprehensive report of the day’s activities and public feedback should be sent to the district center after every session.
The Collector noted that under the Bhoo Bharati Act, land disputes can be appealed starting at the Tahsildar level, allowing for quicker resolution. Farmers are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to settle their land issues.
After the Collector’s speech, officials’ questions were addressed. The program saw attendance by Additional Collector Revenue Lakshmi Narayana, RDO Srinivas Rao, Tahsildars, Deputy Tahsildars, and Revenue Inspectors, among others.
