A voluntary blood donation camp was held at the Vinayaka Mandap in Desitikyala Ward, part of the Nagarkurnool municipality. The event was organized by the Desitikyala Hanuman Youth in collaboration with the Red Cross Society.
During the camp, Red Cross Secretary C. Ramesh Reddy praised the young participants for their efforts. He stressed the importance of blood donation, urging every young person to donate blood at least once a year. He reminded everyone that blood cannot be bought, and in emergencies, a shortage could lead to the loss of lives. Reddy encouraged more youth to come forward and donate to prevent such shortages.
Youth Red Cross District Convener D. Kumar also spoke at the event. He highlighted that one person’s blood donation can save up to three lives, making it a very noble act. He also explained that donating blood has health benefits for the donor, such as boosting immunity, aiding in weight loss, improving heart health, reducing cancer risks, and enhancing mental well-being.
A total of 32 youths participated in the camp and donated blood.
The event saw the involvement of other key individuals, including Youth Red Cross District Convener D. Kumar and members of the Desitikyala Hanuman Youth such as Kalyan Reddy, Surender Reddy, and Chandrakumar Reddy.
