Hyderabad: The Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) in Telangana organized a training session focused on addressing youth drug abuse. This event, held at the Telangana Integrated Command Control Centre (TGiCCC) in Banjara Hills, aimed to educate trainers on prevention, awareness, and rehabilitation strategies.
On Tuesday, about 400 people participated, including members from the Impact Foundation, Lions Club, social media influencers, lecturers from the Government Polytechnic College, counselors from the Hyderabad City Security Council, individuals from the All India Milli Council, and officials from the Telangana Academy for Skill & Knowledge (TASK).
The session ran from 10 am to 2 pm and was attended by key figures such as Sandeep Shandilya (Retd.), Director of EAGLE, P. Seetharam, SP, EAGLE, P. Krishna Murthy, Additional SP, EAGLE, Srikanth Sinha, CEO of TASK, and Gampa Nageshwar Rao, founder of the Impact Foundation and Lions Club 320 H Governor.
The Impact Foundation, known for its soft skill training for students and unemployed youth, has partnered with EAGLE to combat drug issues in Telangana. The first training session was held on March 21, 2025, for 240 Impact Foundation members, who received 600 anti-drug awareness jackets. Since then, they have conducted 436 awareness programs, inspiring 40,000 students to become “Anti-Drug Soldiers.” Rewards were given to those who led more than five programs.
TASK, which works with 760 colleges in Telangana, has also joined EAGLE to enroll students as Anti-Drug Soldiers, aiming to make all campuses drug-free. Three colleges were recognized for high enrolment rates: Mallareddy University (92%), Sumathireddy Institute of Technology for Women (80%), and Mallareddy Pharma College (78%). Educational institutions are encouraged to involve students in this initiative and strive for drug-free campuses.
EAGLE urges all school and college managements to allow trained Impact Foundation personnel to conduct awareness sessions. The organization calls on everyone in Telangana to work together to eliminate drugs from the state. People with information about drug activities are encouraged to call the toll-free number 1908, with guaranteed confidentiality.
