Hyderabad: Eatala Rajender, the MP for Malkajgiri, spoke to reporters after attending a Cantonment Board meeting. He announced several development projects to improve the area’s infrastructure and address flooding issues.
Rajender shared that the government has paid compensation to landowners affected by the Rajiv Road and Nagpur Highway flyover projects. This move ensures transparency and assistance for those impacted.
Flooding near Hussain Sagar is a major problem, with rain causing water to rise up to ten feet, flooding homes. To tackle this, the government has allocated Rs 303 crores for better drainage and sewer systems to prevent waterlogging and enhance sanitation.
Sitaramapuram frequently suffers from heavy rain. Rajender plans to find a lasting solution to protect the community from floods.
In Ramannakunta, stagnant water has caused bad odors. Rajender plans to rejuvenate the area by adding walking tracks and planting trees, making it a pleasant space for people to enjoy.
The board has decided to grant permissions to those who bought government flats, safeguarding their rights and reducing bureaucratic delays.
Looking forward, Rajender aims to improve the overall livability of the cantonment. Plans include creating attractive public areas like parks, open-air gyms, and a modern underground drainage system. These efforts aim to foster a healthier and sustainable urban environment for residents.
The Cantonment Board meeting was a significant step toward enhancing services and living conditions, with Rajender reaffirming the government’s dedication to thoughtful urban planning.
