Hyderabad: Eatala Rajender, the Member of Parliament from Malkajgiri, has called on the state government to act swiftly and compassionately in response to severe flooding affecting various regions. He described the situation as not just unusual weather but a critical humanitarian crisis. Rainfall in the area has suddenly increased from the normal 2-3 centimeters to a shocking 30-40 centimeters in just hours. This drastic change has devastated thousands of acres of farmland, submerging crops and worsening the plight of already struggling farming communities. Many families have been forced to leave their homes, and images from the flooded areas show injured people with bandages and signs of trauma.

Rajender urged the Chief Minister to visit the affected regions, carry out a thorough assessment of the damage, and provide immediate financial and infrastructure aid to both farmers and displaced families. He also stressed the need for emergency response systems to be activated, highlighting agencies like Hydra that have previously pledged support for disaster relief. Rajender appealed to the Bharatiya Janata Party to organize relief efforts in the districts hit by heavy rains. He asked BJP leaders and members to assist those affected by the floods, emphasizing that the crisis requires more than just temporary solutions—it needs strategic, long-term policy changes.

He pointed out that the unexpected increase in rainfall signals a broader climate change, necessitating adaptive infrastructure, resilient agricultural strategies, and coordinated government action. Rajender urged leaders to put politics aside and support the people, framing this disaster as a leadership challenge and a chance to rethink Telangana‘s approach to climate and rural issues.
