Hyderabad: Telangana Model Praised in Economic Survey, Says BRS Leaders

The BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) leaders on Friday stated that the Economic Survey (2024-25) released by the Union government highlights the success of the Telangana model under their leadership. According to them, the survey serves as proof against Congress’s claims that the model is a “bogus campaign.”

The leaders emphasized that the survey reaffirms the growth achieved by Telangana under Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) pointed out that the state’s development has been holistic, inclusive, and balanced. He added that Telangana has emerged as a leading state, with 88% of its revenue coming from state-owned taxes.

KTR credited this achievement to the prudent fiscal policies implemented by KCR. He also highlighted that around 90% of Telangana’s gross cropped area now benefits from irrigation, thanks to large-scale irrigation projects undertaken by the state.

Despite criticism and misinformation campaigns against flagship projects like the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, Telangana has remained a leader in irrigation, KTR said. He also mentioned the success of WE-HUB, an initiative launched during the 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Summit, which has become a national model for empowering women entrepreneurs.

Additionally, KCR’s Mission Bhagiratha, aimed at providing safe drinking water, has made Telangana one of the first states to ensure clean water access to every household. KTR remarked that while Congress might attempt to discredit KCR’s efforts, they cannot deny that Telangana has achieved remarkable progress across all sectors under BRS governance.
