Hyderabad is gearing up for the upcoming by-election in the Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency. The district election authorities are focusing on training personnel as part of SVEEP (Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation) to boost voter turnout.
On Thursday, Dr. Vivekanand, Assistant Nodal Officer for SVEEP, highlighted the importance of getting more young people to register as voters and increasing overall participation in Jubilee Hills. SVEEP is actively working to educate citizens about the voting process through workshops, interactive sessions, and awareness drives in Hyderabad.
These efforts are led by RV Karnan, Hyderabad District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner. During a SVEEP awareness event at Don Bosco Degree College in Erragadda, Dr. Vivekanand stressed the significance of each vote in strengthening democracy.
He urged all citizens who are 18 years old as of July 1, 2025, to register as voters immediately. Dr. Vivekanand emphasized that involving educated youth in elections enhances transparency, integrity, and democratic values.
Students over 18 were encouraged to add their names to the electoral rolls. The importance of SVEEP was underlined, and students were motivated to vote and spread awareness about SVEEP among their peers and families. The program saw attendance from Deputy Project Officer Rajashekar, CO Venkataiah, Resource Persons Shobharani, Ramalakshmi, Mohammad Ghouse, Yadayya, along with the college principal, faculty, and many students.
