Ramagundam Police Commissioner Rema Rajeshwari conducted an election training meeting at Ramagundam Police Commissionerate on Tuesday. The purpose of the meeting was to create awareness about the laws and code of conduct for the upcoming general elections.
According to Rajeshwari, the election Code of Conduct comes into effect as soon as the schedule is released by the Chief Electoral Officer. All officials will have to work under the election rules and be prepared to make arrangements for the elections.
During the meeting, police officers were provided training to clarify any doubts they had about the election rules. Rajeshwari emphasized the importance of identifying vulnerable polling areas and critical polling centers.
It was also stressed that a list should be prepared of individuals with a criminal history related to previous elections, rowdy sheeters, and those who disrupt the peace during elections. These individuals should be counseled and bound over before the concerned authorities. Additionally, details of those released from jail during elections should be collected and troublemakers should be monitored.
Rajeshwari also highlighted the need to identify and bound over individuals involved in sensational cases, communal offenses, riots, and those who cause law and order problems.
The meeting was attended by Peddapalli DCP Vaibhav Gaekwad, Mancherial DCP Sudhir Kekan, AR Additional DCP Riaz ul Haq, ACPs, CIs, and SIs from both districts.
