The district Collector Valluri Kranti has instructed officials to ensure that everyone can exercise their right to vote. In a video conference call with district Collectors, the state joint election commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed and state level election officers discussed the upcoming general elections for Telangana state.

The Joint Chief Electoral Officer Sarfaraz Ahmed asked district officials to take steps to increase voter turnout in assembly segments, register new voters, maintain gender ratio in the voter list, and consider the ratio of voters to population.

The officials were advised to print voter lists and identification cards for newly sanctioned voters and submit a report on the printing and distribution of these cards.

The district Collector emphasized the importance of providing information on population and voter ratio, gender ratio, and young voters among polling centers. Officials were advised to take appropriate measures to ensure these ratios align with the instructions of the election commission. The district Collector also urged conducting awareness programs and innovative initiatives to increase voter turnout, especially among young voters. Social media should be utilized for publicity in urban areas, while suitable programs should be conducted in rural areas based on local conditions. Additionally, special Electoral clubs should be established in educational institutions in the district.

Special attention should be given to registering women voters and maintaining gender ratio.

As part of the second phase voter list revision, a meeting should be held with representatives of all political parties before releasing the draft voter list. The schedule for the second voter revision will be released on August 21st. Objections and applications for new voter registration will be accepted until September 19th. Steps should be taken to print ID cards applied for by August 15th using printers specified by the election commission, and distribution should be completed promptly.

The meeting was attended by additional collectors Cheerla Srinivas Sagar, Apoorva Chauhan, ED SC Corporation Ramesh Babu, and other concerned officials.
