EVM Room in Miryalguda Experiences False Alarm Triggered by Technical Issue

District Election officer and Collector Karnan, SP Apoorva Rao, and political party representatives visited the EVM strong room in Miryalguda after receiving an alert about the fire alarm going off. The alert came from the Returning Officer and Revenue Divisional Officer of Miryalaguda. The strong room, located at Government Junior College, had been experiencing the fire alarm since 8:30 am. The Chief Electoral Officer was informed, and the officials and political leaders entered the EVM strong room at 12:05 pm in the presence of the District Election Officer and SP.

Inside the strong room, it was discovered that there was no smoke. It turned out that the fire alarm was a false alarm triggered by a technical glitch in one of the smoke detectors. The Station Fire Officer of Miryalaguda inspected the smoke detector and confirmed the false alarm.

All the political representatives expressed satisfaction with the district administration’s adherence to ECI guidelines regarding the opening and closing of the EVM strong room.

The inspection was attended by Md Saleem of INC, T Bhargav of BRS, P Dinesh of BSP, Md Kuthubuddin of AAP, Syed Farooq of AIMIM, K Sathyam of TDP, R Purushotham Reddy of BJP, and M Ravi Naik of CPM.
