In a major political development, former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy stated that he will not return to the YSRCP and will continue his political journey with YS Sharmila if she joins the Congress party. He spoke to the media for the second time since resigning from the YSRCP on December 11. Ramakrishna Reddy sent his resignation to the YSRCP in the Speaker’s format and it is now up to them to accept it. He had originally planned to continue in politics with the YSRCP, but has now resigned and believes Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should respond to this decision.

Ramakrishna Reddy mentioned that he has received invitations to join other parties, but he remains loyal to YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s family. He will soon disclose his future plans. He criticized the YSRCP Government for only allocating Rs 125 crore for the development of the Mangalagiri constituency, compared to the Rs 1,250 crore that was promised. He expressed disappointment that his efforts were not acknowledged by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and revealed that he had personally funded development projects in Mangalagiri that had not been addressed for decades. Ramakrishna Reddy believes that the YSRCP should have principles and that the people of Mangalagiri are expecting progress in their constituency.

Regarding the loan taken from private lenders to pay contractors, Ramakrishna Reddy clarified that he is not blaming anyone. Despite defeating Nara Lokesh in the 2019 Assembly elections, he did not receive sufficient support from the YSRCP leadership. He mentioned that Chief Minister’s secretary K Dhananjay Reddy had communicated the need to release funds for the constituency on several occasions, but wondered when these funds would be sanctioned, especially with elections approaching.

Ramakrishna Reddy also stated that he will continue his legal battle against cases involving Chandrababu Naidu and will not withdraw the Amravati Inner Ring Road (IRR) case. He emphasized that he will keep fighting these cases, regardless of whether Revanth Reddy is with the Congress or if YS Sharmila joins the Congress. He even mentioned that he would file cases against the YSRCP Government if any irregularities were committed.

Even if he is not given a chance as an MLA in the upcoming elections, Ramakrishna Reddy assured that development in the Mangalagiri constituency will not be halted. He clarified that his resignation from the YSRCP was not due to being denied a ticket and referred to an incident involving himself, YS Jagan, and Ganji Chiranjeevi without providing further details.
