Explosion at Sangareddy pharmaceutical plant claims 4 lives

Four people were killed and 20 others were injured in an explosion at a pharmaceutical company in Sangareddy district. The blast happened around 5 pm, causing a fire at the SB Organics industry in Chandapur. The explosion threw people around the area due to its impact.

The entire area was covered in smoke as firefighters worked to control the blaze for nearly three hours. It is reported that there were over 50 workers in the building at the time of the explosion. Police and fire teams rushed to the scene upon receiving information about the explosion. Over 20 people suffered severe burn injuries and were taken to the hospital.

Four bodies were found on the factory’s ground floor, including the plant head and a higher management employee. Four vehicles arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames. Fourteen people were taken to MNR Hospital, while seven others were taken to the Government Hospital in Sangareddy.

Narsapur MLA P Sunitha Laxma Reddy visited the site and described the situation as scary, with dismembered bodies of workers. Workers had noticed a leakage in the reactor and tried to stop it before the explosion occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
