Hyderabad: Relief from traffic jams is near for daily travelers using the Falaknuma Railway Over Bridge (RoB). A new Parallel Railway Over Bridge is almost ready, promising smoother routes in the Old City.
The current RoB, vital for connecting key areas, struggles with heavy traffic. It often causes delays, especially during peak hours. The State government approved the new RoB in 2018 to solve these issues.
The new flyover, stretching 360 meters, is a joint project by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and South Central Railway (SCR). The project costs Rs 47.10 crore.
GHMC has completed its tasks around the railway, and most roadwork is done. SCR is finalizing their part. Bahadurpura MLA Mohammed Mubeen stated that once SCR finishes, GHMC will complete the road, opening it for public use.
AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi, has voiced concerns about delays. He humorously remarked that the lengthy construction time might set records, highlighting the ongoing wait for the Falaknuma and Shastripuram RoBs.
