Khammam: Farmers in Tallada mandal villages are struggling to get urea during the Kharif season. This shortage is harming their crops and hopes.
Namburi Ramalingeswara Rao, the BJP Khammam Parliamentary Convenor, criticized the State government for poor fertilizer management. During his constituency tour, he visited Annarugudem village in the Sathupalli Assembly area. He talked with farmers and saw paddy fields suffering from insufficient urea.
Apati Venkata Ramarao, former Tallada mandal president, and other BJP district leaders joined him. Farmers complained about the lack of urea supply, saying they haven’t received even one bag per acre this season. Rao accused the State Government of failing to distribute urea properly, resulting in black marketing.
Rao pointed out that Sathupalli, a major paddy cultivation area, is heavily affected. Over 20,000 acres in Tallada are at risk, showcasing the State’s administrative shortcomings. He criticized the Agriculture Minister for blaming the Centre instead of fixing distribution issues.
Rao demanded immediate action and warned that farmers won’t forget this neglect. He visited the Tallada Agricultural Officer’s office to push for fair distribution of urea, ensuring it reaches the intended farmers without diversion.
He warned of protests if the government continues to neglect farmers’ needs. The BJP, along with farmers, will protest if necessary to protect their interests. Key leaders present included Gade Krishnarao, Perika Kiran, Vadavalli Nageswara Rao, and Thammashetty Krishna.
