Roger Federer expressed his disappointment at not being able to see Rafael Nadal play at the French Open this year. Nadal, who has won 14 Roland Garros championships, had to withdraw due to a hip injury. Federer called Nadal’s record at the clay-court major one of the most extraordinary achievements in all sports. Federer also said he is happy for Nadal that he is taking the necessary time to recover.

Federer conducted a Q&A session with his fans on Twitter, where he mentioned that he would miss seeing Nadal play. He also talked about his favourite match with Nadal, which was the 2008 Roland Garros final, which he lost. Federer retired last September and is rumoured to be working as a tennis commentator soon. However, he dismissed all speculations and said he has no plans to commentate this year.
