Khanapur: Nirmal District Collector Abhilasha Abhinav said that the State government’s fine rice scheme will greatly help poor families.
On Tuesday, the Collector and Additional Collector Kishore Kumar visited Tarlapadu village in Khanapur mandal. They had a meal at the house of Dalit woman Pallerla Sujatha and her husband Rajeshwar, who are receiving fine rice through the scheme.
During the visit, the Collector spoke with the family and asked about their jobs and their children’s education. She encouraged the children to study well, do better in life, and make their parents and the district proud.
The Collector explained that the government started this program to provide good quality rice to poor people. Pallerla Sujatha said she was happy to serve food made with the rice given by the government and to share the meal with the officials at her home.
The Collector also asked other beneficiaries how they felt about the taste and quality of the rice. She advised people not to sell the rice to middlemen, as it is meant for their own use.
