Hyderabad: The Congress party has denied accusations of engaging in vendetta politics, stating that it has always been dedicated to protecting water bodies. The party emphasized that it has taken action against those who encroach on these bodies, regardless of their political affiliations.
M Kodanda Reddy, the national vice-president of the Congress party’s Kisan Cell, remembered how, during the time of unified Andhra Pradesh, the Congress government had formed the Protection of Lakes Committee. He also mentioned that the government had introduced a Master Plan for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) as part of their 2030 vision.
The former MLA pointed out that the current government has also made efforts to protect water bodies by establishing HYDRA. However, he criticized the BRS regime, stating that unlike the previous Congress government, it has supported illegal constructions.
Reddy explained that while the general public is in favor of the actions taken by HYDRA, the opposition is making baseless accusations against the Chief Minister. He clarified that the ongoing actions are not aimed at targeting any specific individuals but are solely focused on protecting water bodies. He made these remarks during a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday.
