Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Dr Duvvuri Subbarao launched his book ‘Just A Mercenary? Notes from My Life and Career’ at Kautilya School of Public Policy in the city. Dr Subbarao served as Governor of the RBI for five years (2008-13) and held other prominent positions before that.
The book provides insights into Dr Subbarao’s career and aims to inspire young professionals. The discussion covered lessons from his journey, anecdotes from his early appointments, India’s bureaucratic framework, and gender parity in civil services.
The author engaged in conversation with senior journalist Smita Sharma, while program manager Shivangi Sharma proposed the vote of thanks. The event was attended by Dean Syed Akbaruddin, faculty members, and students from the school.
