Hyderabad: T Prabhakar Rao, once the head of Telangana's Special Investigation Bureau (SIB), faced court in Nampally on Tuesday over a phone tapping scandal.

The court had warned him to appear, or he would be declared a fugitive. After a 15-month stay in the United States, Prabhakar returned to Hyderabad last Sunday. On Monday, he met with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for the first time regarding the phone tapping investigation. The case, filed at the Punjagutta police station, names him as the main suspect.

Prabhakar endured about 8 hours of questioning by the SIT. Officials from the SIT suggested that more questioning sessions might take place if the investigation reveals new information or leads.
