Funds Released for Second Phase of Farmer Loan Waiver Amid Festive Celebrations

Gadwal: Second Phase of Farmer Loan Waiver 2024 Launched

On Tuesday, the state government launched the second phase of the Farmer Loan Waiver 2024. The event took place at the state secretariat with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and other key officials in attendance.

The district-level ceremony was held at the District Collector’s office. District Collector B.M. Santosh presided over the event, which was attended by beneficiary farmers, agriculture and cooperative department officials, and bankers. The program was broadcast live, allowing attendees to hear the Chief Minister’s message.

During the event, the District Collector handed over cheques to farmers benefiting from the second phase of the loan waiver. He announced that the state government is depositing ₹174.73 crores into the accounts of district farmers. In the first phase, loans below ₹1 lakh were waived, and in this second phase, loans below ₹1.5 lakh are being waived.

The Collector explained that the first phase benefited 24,398 farmer families with ₹144.09 crores, while the second phase is benefiting 18,141 farmer families with ₹174.73 crores. He assured the farmers that the administration is committed to the smooth implementation of the loan waiver program.

He also emphasized that any issues at the grassroots level will be addressed promptly. Bankers and agriculture officials were instructed to support the farmers to ensure no one faces inconvenience.

The Collector congratulated all the farmers who benefited from the loan waiver. The event was attended by District Agriculture Officer Govind Naik, District Cooperative Officer Prasad Rao, Lead Bank Manager Ayyapu Reddy, and other relevant officials and local representatives.
