Hyderabad: The State government has announced that the first-ever ‘Gaddar Film Awards’ will be held on June 14. This event is being organized in honor of Gaddar, a well-known revolutionary poet and singer. A total of 1,248 applications have been received from various film categories for this special occasion.
At a jury meeting held at the LV Prasad Cine Lab on Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the government plans to make the event grand and on par with international film award shows. He encouraged the jury members and officials to work hard to make the event a success, so it sets a new standard and gains global attention. He also said the awards should inspire future generations.
The Deputy Chief Minister pointed out that the film industry in Telangana has been ignored for the past ten years. He mentioned that no film awards have been given since 2011, which has slowed the industry’s growth. He praised Gaddar for promoting Telangana’s culture and values not just within the state, but also across the country and the world.
He also shared that the current Congress government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is committed to reviving and supporting the film industry in Telangana. Finally, he urged the jury to judge the films fairly, without letting personal connections or biases influence their decisions.
