Hyderabad: BRS leaders are working hard to make their party’s Formation Day public meeting on April 27 in Warangal a grand success. They believe this event will be the biggest in the party’s 25-year history.
The BRS leadership has already started year-long celebrations for its silver jubilee. Major preparations are being made for the meeting where party chief K Chandrashekar Rao will speak. He has already met with leaders from the ten former districts of Telangana to ask them to bring large crowds to the event. Other party leaders, including working president KT Rama Rao and MLC K Kavitha, have also held planning meetings in different districts.
After not performing well in the recent Lok Sabha elections, the BRS wants to bounce back and regain its earlier popularity. The party previously held a large meeting at Kongarakalan in Ranga Reddy district when it was in power. Now that it is in the Opposition, leaders are putting in even more effort to make this event a success.
The meeting will be held in Elkathurthy, in a massive area of 1,200 acres. This space includes parking areas. A senior leader said the party is arranging over 10,000 vehicles, including buses, cabs, and jeeps, to bring people to the event. The BRS has already paid Rs 8 crore to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGRTC) to hire 3,000 of the buses. Another 3,000 buses will come from private operators and the remaining 4,000 from schools and colleges. The stage for the meeting can hold up to 400 people.
To take care of the attendees, the party will provide drinking water and buttermilk. They have ordered over 10 lakh packets of buttermilk for the event.
KT Rama Rao said that only two political parties in the Telugu-speaking states — the Telugu Desam Party and BRS — have completed 25 years successfully. To celebrate this milestone, the BRS has planned monthly events throughout the year. These events will focus on strengthening the party and solving public issues.
