Gadwal police recently caught three men involved in illegally transporting and selling ganja from Solapur, Maharashtra. These individuals targeted young people in Gadwal and Aiza towns. Officers seized 1.65 kilograms of ganja and three mobile phones from them.
Acting on a tip-off, Sub-Inspector Kalyan Kumar and his team conducted a raid near the railway station bridge at 8:30 am. They found three suspects with ganja in their possession. A case was filed at the Gadwal Town Police Station under Crime No. 173/2025.
The accused are identified as Bhasha Miya, a 28-year-old decoration worker from Sherelli Street, Gadwal Town; Poorna Ambadas alias Ajay, a 25-year-old shopkeeper from Aiza; and Chakali Parusha Ramudu, a 22-year-old mason, also from Aiza.
These friends had been buying ganja in bulk from Solapur for six months. They split it into small packets, selling to local youth and familiar buyers in Gadwal and Aiza. During questioning, they admitted to selling the drug to nearly 30 people, with more names expected to emerge as the investigation proceeds.
The operation led to the seizure of 1.65 kilograms of ganja and three mobile phones. Under the guidance of the Jogulamba Gadwal District Superintendent of Police, T. Srinivasa Rao, IPS, and with oversight from DSP Mogilayya and CI T. Srinu, SI Kalyan Kumar and his team managed to arrest the suspects. The men will face court proceedings and likely be held in custody.
DSP praised officers Chandrayya, Veeresh, and Kiran for their effective efforts in solving the case.
