Hyderabad: In Gayathri Nagar, this year’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations were a grand success, thanks to the Mahadev Youth Association. For the 12th year in a row, they organized the festival, starting from the welcoming of Lord Ganesh to the final immersion ceremony.
Since 2013, local youths have been setting up Lord Ganesh idols in their community, turning the event into a major gathering. This festival draws families, children, and elders together, creating a joyful and united atmosphere.
The celebrations kicked off with the Ganesh Agaman, where the deity was greeted with devotional music, drum beats, and vibrant decorations. Throughout the event, residents enjoyed daily prayers, cultural shows, hymns, and children’s activities. Everyone in Gayathri Nagar contributed financially and volunteered to ensure everything ran smoothly.
A notable feature of the association’s efforts is their balance of tradition with social responsibility. They conducted programs on environmental conservation and advocated for eco-friendly practices during the festival.
The festival concluded with a lively Ganesh Visarjan procession. The idol was carried through Gayathri Nagar as chants of “Ganapati Bappa Morya” filled the air. Devotees, young and old, came together to bid farewell, praying for prosperity and peace.
Members of the Mahadev Youth Association thanked the community for their support. An organizer shared, “Ganesh Chaturthi is more than a festival for us; it unites Gayathri Nagar every year. Celebrating 12 years is a proud achievement.”
The association plans to keep this tradition alive, blending faith with community service in the years ahead.
