The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has put up eight sign boards around the Tank Bund to enforce cleanliness regulations. The boards clearly state that cake cutting is not allowed on the Tank Bund and warn of penalties for littering. There are around 300 CCTV cameras in place to monitor the area. The signs also remind visitors not to leave behind plastic wrappers or unfinished cakes on the benches.
Many people on X (formerly Twitter) have praised the decision by GHMC. They believe that this is a good move and have used the hashtag #NoCakeCuttingOnTankBund to show their support. Some users have even suggested that similar rules should be implemented at other lakes.
