In preparation for the upcoming Diwali festival, South Central Railway will be conducting checks to prevent the transportation of firecrackers and other inflammable substances on trains and railway premises. Carrying these items poses a serious safety risk to passengers and creates an unsafe environment. Railway officials are urging passengers not to bring any flammable or explosive materials on board, as it endangers the safety of everyone on the train and railway property.

It is important to note that carrying inflammable and explosive articles on a train is a punishable offense under Sections 164 and 165 of the Railway Act 1989. Offenders can face a fine of up to Rs 1,000 or imprisonment for three years, or both. To ensure public safety, SCR officials are encouraging passengers to immediately inform railway staff or call the security helpline-139 if they notice any firecrackers or suspicious/dangerous explosive/inflammable materials on trains or at stations.
