    Hyderabad: On Monday, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) received over 230 public complaints during the Prajavani event. GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan instructed officials to investigate these issues thoroughly and resolve them quickly.

    At the GHMC headquarters, Commissioner Karnan listened to citizens from various city areas. The complaints were immediately sent to the relevant departments for action. In total, there were 231 complaints from the headquarters and all circle offices during the event.

    Commissioner Karnan stressed the need for officials to review each complaint carefully. He urged them to implement necessary actions and recommended better collaboration among departments to avoid similar issues in the future.

    At the headquarters, 78 complaints were logged. The Town Planning Department had the most with 45 complaints. The Tax Section received 13, the Sanitation Department got 4, the Engineering Department had 3, and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) received 2. Single complaints were also reported to the Land Acquisition, Finance, Legal, and Vigilance Departments.

    The Prajavani phone-in program received 7 requests, forwarded to the respective departments. Across the GHMC’s six zones, 146 complaints were recorded. Kukatpally Zone had the highest with 57, followed by Secunderabad with 53, Serilingampally with 17, Charminar with 8, L B Nagar with 6, and Khairtabad Zone with 5. Key figures like Chief Engineers Ratnakar and Nityananda, Additional Commissioners Venugopal, Satyanarayana, Yadagiri Rao, Venugopal Reddy, Pankaja, Nalini Padmavati, Chief City Planner Srinivas, and other senior officers participated in the Prajavani programme.
