Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) now offers all property tax services online to make it easier for residents and improve digital governance.
Residents can access these services through the official GHMC website (www.ghmc.gov.in), removing the need to visit MeeSeva centers.
According to GHMC officials, this initiative simplifies the application process and enhances service quality by allowing submissions from home.
To use the service, applicants must enter their Property Tax Identification Number (PTIN) and submit relevant documents like the sale deed.
Once submitted, the system forwards applications to the appropriate tax officials for verification and approval. GHMC also announced that an online service for property modification is being developed and will be available soon.
Residents are encouraged to use the Hyderabad property tax online platform for quick and convenient services, as part of GHMC‘s commitment to digital transformation, according to a civic body press release.
For 2025-26, stamp duties in Hyderabad include taxes on property purchases, calculated as a percentage of the property’s transaction value. The Indian Stamps Act, 1899 mandates these fees for legal ownership transfers. In Hyderabad, there is a 4% stamp duty, 0.5% registration charge, and 1.5% transfer charge for properties within corporation and municipal service areas. To determine these costs, multiply the property’s current price by the applicable tax and registration fee rates.
