    P. Gangaram Naik, the president of the Tribal Employees’ Association, spoke about Mahatma Gandhi’s vital role in India’s fight for independence. He emphasized Gandhi’s belief in non-violence as a powerful tool for achieving social and political change. “What cannot be achieved through violence can be accomplished through non-violence,” Naik said, reflecting Gandhi’s philosophy.

The day also coincided with the World Day of Non-Violence, an international observance designated by the United Nations. This day has been commemorated annually since its declaration on June 15, 2007.
