Bhadrachalam is experiencing a rise in the Godavari River water level, reaching a concerning 50 feet due to heavy rain upstream. This occurred on Tuesday evening. Sub-Collector Mrinal Shreshtha has advised residents in low-lying areas to stay alert and adhere to safety measures.
Shreshtha visited flood-prone spots along the river to assess the situation. He emphasized that public safety is the main focus, urging everyone to cooperate to avoid any incidents.
He firmly advised against entering or bathing in the river. People should keep a safe distance from bridges, tanks, streams, canals, and any areas with flowing floodwaters.
Visitors to the Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy Temple are warned not to go near the riverbank, embankments, or bathing ghats for selfies or videos.
