HYDRAA has removed an illegal barrier constructed by Praneeth Antilya across a 40-foot road in Mallampet, following directives from the High Court. The removal of this obstruction has brought significant relief to residents who were forced to travel an additional 5 kilometers due to the encroachment. The barrier was removed on Monday after due legal procedures were followed.

Residents of the Mallampet area had filed complaints with HYDRAA against the fence built by Praneeth Antilya, which blocked public access to a crucial road connecting Mallampet to Bachupalli Crossroads. The barrier forced commuters to take a longer route of 8 kilometers instead of the direct 3-kilometer path. This caused considerable inconvenience to residents traveling to Pragatinagar from Exit 4 of the Outer Ring Road.

Following the complaint, Hydra issued notices to the administrators of Praneeth Antilya for creating obstructions on the public road. In response, the developers approached the High Court challenging the notice. The court instructed Hydra to follow proper legal procedures before taking any action. Both parties were called for discussions to resolve the matter.

During the proceedings, it was determined that Praneeth Antilya was not a gated community as per the layout approved by HMDA. No special allocation of lanes was made following gated community regulations. The developers had illegally constructed the barrier claiming it was part of a gated community, which was found to be false. The High Court then directed HYDRAA to proceed with the removal after following due process.

The dispute involved land between Mallampet and Bachupalli villages in Dundigal mandal of Medchal-Malkajigiri district. The blocked road served as a vital link for residents of multiple colonies in the area. The illegal barrier had been a source of frustration for local residents who had to take long detours for their daily commute.

With the barrier removed, the travel distance from Mallampet Outer Ring Road exit to Bachupalli Crossroads has been reduced from 8 kilometers to just 3 kilometers. Residents can now reach Pragatinagar via a direct route passing through Mallampet Village, Praneeth Leaf Colony, Akash Venture, Dream Valley Colony, Green Park Colony, Sainagar Colony, Brindavan Colony, APR Colony, Indiramma Colony, Lakshmi Srinivas Colony, and other residential areas.

Following the removal of the barrier, HMDA immediately took up the task of laying a BT Road on the cleared path. The road work was expected to be completed by Monday evening, ensuring smooth connectivity for residents. The quick response from HMDA has been appreciated by local residents who had been suffering due to the illegal encroachment.

The action by HYDRAA demonstrates the authority’s commitment to removing illegal encroachments and ensuring public roads remain accessible to all citizens. The case serves as an example of how proper legal procedures and court directives can help resolve disputes involving public infrastructure. Residents of the area have welcomed the removal of the barrier and the restoration of their right to use the public road.
