The State government in Hyderabad has allocated Rs 50 crore to settle long-pending dues for weavers. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy instructed officials to release the funds quickly to clear outstanding payments.

The previous government owed Rs 350 crore to weavers, specifically for Bathukamma sarees. This financial burden has greatly affected the livelihoods of many weavers. Weavers in Sircilla protested, urging the government to intervene. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas assured the weavers their concerns would be addressed.
